A few people have asked me to provide a more in depth description of my site, Festival of Beer.
So, here goes…
About Festival of Beer
Festival of Beer is a Blog about the celebration of Beer. I, like a lot of people, enjoy drinking good, well made craft beer – (I define craft beer as beer that is brewed using just the four basic ingredients; water, barley, hops and yeast. Craft beer is not mass produced but brewed in small batches to allow the full brewing process to occur naturally). The only thing better than drinking good, well made beer is drinking it with great people.
That is what this site is about.
It celebrates great beer but it also lists where you can go to taste craft beer with like-minded people. I have created a database of Beer Festivals and Beer Tasting events that you can search. All you need to do is enter the location that you wish to search against and if there are any upcoming events then they will be displayed for you.
As a list like this is only as good as the data contained within it I have included for you, the readers and organisers of Beer Festivals, the ability to add new Beer Festival events to the database. This will allow you to advertise your event but ultimately it will help spread the word about the countless small breweries around the world that are brewing some fantastic beers!
And if we can bring people together to drink great beer then surely the world will become a better place?
For a bit of fun I have created the Beer Festival Ratio. This measures how far a society is advanced in terms of celebrating the production and consumption of craft beer. Check out my previous post to read more about the Beer Festival Ratio – the results, which will be updated on a regular basis, are contained in the side bar of this website. At the moment America is the most advanced craft beer nation on the planet!
So there it is. My Blog is about celebrating craft beer with friends and like-minded people. In putting this site together I have also provided a database of upcoming Beer Festivals.
I would love to get your feedback.
What do you like about this site. What can I improve and what else would you like to see. I am also open to guest bloggers publishing on this site (see the Write For Us page for more details), and for Beer Festival advertisers to post articles describing their upcoming Beer Festivals. I would also love for craft beer brewers to post articles describing their beers, how they got into brewing, the state of the industry and so forth.
Should you wish to contact me to post a comment, submit a suggestion or request an article be posted on the site then I can be contacted through the About page.
Until next time, Cheers!
